I built Onbry to simplify a recurring part of software onboarding: collecting the credentials needed to connect a customer’s systems. The technical integration might be straightforward, but getting the right people to find and submit the right information can involve scattered instructions, repeated follow-ups, and manual handoffs between customer success and engineering.
Onbry brings that process into a shared workflow. Software teams create reusable integration recipes containing instructions and credential fields, then combine them into a branded request for a customer. Recipients can invite other contributors, complete individual integrations, and return to unfinished work. Staff can see what’s missing, review activity, and request corrections without starting the entire process over.
How it works
Activating a request sends invitations to its recipients. Configurable reminders keep incomplete requests moving, while internal notifications give the team visibility into outstanding work. Workspace administrators control the default reminder policy and whether individual requests can override it.
Once credentials are submitted, engineering teams can retrieve encrypted submissions through the API or react to webhook events. Their own code decrypts the credentials, tests the integration, and requests corrections for a specific submission revision when necessary. Onbry includes runnable Python examples for connecting these steps to existing workflows.
Technical design
Credentials are encrypted in the recipient’s browser using the software provider’s public key. The provider retains the private decryption key and decrypts submissions within its own environment. Onbry stores encrypted submissions with a 30-day retention window.
The backend supports multiple workspaces, role-based staff access, scoped API credentials, session revocation, and activity logs. Email and webhook delivery use a durable queue with retries and recovery for interrupted processing. Revision checks and idempotency controls help prevent duplicate operations and corrections against outdated submissions.
I built and deployed the frontend, backend, and supporting infrastructure, including the credential collection flow, provider setup, API, and delivery workers.
